Top Summer Blush Picks Sleek Look Beauty NARS MAC Laura mercier Benefit
Look Beauty Make Me Blush in Flirt, Laura Mercier Second Skin Cheek Colour in Lush Nectarine, Benefit Powda Wowza (Hoola, Coralista and Bella Bamba), Nars Desire, MAC Melba, Sleek Blush by 3 in Sweet Cheeks.
I love summer blushers.  Although when it's sunny I don't always go for a full face of makeup, I never skip a hint of colour over my cheek bones.  Shimmer, frost, matte and cream formulas in varying shades of pink and peach are right up my street.  These are what I regularly reach for when the sun comes out to add a hint of colour to my face.
The Look Beauty Make Me Blush was a firm favourite of mine last summer, and nothing's changed this time round.  A shimmery bright orangey-peach which is beautifully pigmented and looks perfect on tanned skin.  It isn't too dissimilar to Laura Mercier's Lush Nectarine, which has less shimmer and is more subtle on the cheeks - perfect for while I'm pale at the beginning of the summer, or days when I want really subtle cheeks.
Benefit Powda Wowza consists of my holy grail matte bronzer, Hoola.  The perfect shade for contouring or adding a hint of colour to my face, this little segment of the palette is my go-to summer bronzer.  Coralista is a beautiful shimmery coral in the pan, very similar to Flirt and Lush Nectarine, although it doesn't seem to be pigmented enough to noticeably transfer onto my skin, I find myself layering this over matte blushers for a hint of shimmer.  Bella Bamba is a gorgeous shimmery pink which is really easy to wear and gives my face a naturally flushed finish.
Nars Desire is without a doubt the brightest blusher I own, but it is absolutely gorgeous.  Applied with a light hand and blended correctly it adds a matte wash of colour that perfectly compliments MAC Impassioned (review here).  Another favourite matte blush in my collection is MAC Melba, a peachy shade that looks a little dull in the pan but transfers onto skin gorgeously for a lovely flush on pale or tanned skin.  It compliments a variety of makeup looks and even my sister's minimalist makeup bag includes Melba!
Lastly, the newest addition to my blusher collection is the Sleek Blush By 3 in Sweet Cheeks.  Consisting of a raspberry cream blush for a natural look, a matte blue-toned light pink for paler days and a bold shimmery red-toned coral which I imagine will be perfect with a tan this palette has something for all occasions, making it ideal for taking travelling.
As you can see, I'm a bit of a blusher lover - these are only this year's summer picks! What blushers do you recommend for the warmer months?
